| Ned’s Adventures… Artisan Wines with Soul |
 |
As sommelier, I have decided to create a page of great wines by drawing on experience from Paris to New York; as judge at numerous wine-shows and now, proudly, as sommelier and buyer for the Global Dining group.
These wines should stand out first and foremost on this list as they speak of place, offer a stunning dialectic of opposing forces-tension and richness; sophistication and hedonism; sheer gulpability and intellectual restraint-but most of all because they are delicious!
Many of these wines march to a different beat than the Madding Crowd, most were discovered on buying trips be it at some grubby trattoria, or winemaker’s home; and although they remain in the main-body of the list for further perusal, they deserve their rightful place at the very front as enticements to our food, the Tableaux experience, and most of all because they deserve attention.
You will note that there are no Cabernets or Chardonnays here, as delicious as certain examples are. Rather, these are wines with a unique presence; wines that speak a myriad of flavours, textures and cultures; and wines that sear themselves into the memory because they are made from the heart. There is something here to awaken, stimulate and revive all palates; even the most jaded!
